Mary will offer background on dementia, pressing theological questions dementia raises, dementia-friendly communication skills, ideas for meaningful activities, and a joyful message for how communities of care can offer hope to those living with dementia.

Bio:

Mary M. Cohen, MPH, D.HCML is the founding director of Anchor Place Respite-Dunwoody, a community-supported ministry of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church for people living with dementia and their caregivers. Mary brings to this role a variety of experiences in healthcare program development and management, parish-based ministry, volunteerism, and dementia education and support Her education includes a Masters in Public Health Policy and Administration from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Doctorate in Healthcare Mission Leadership from Loyola University-Chicago. Mary also recently completed her Certificate in Spiritual Direction through Loyola. Mary and her husband, Scott, are the proud parents of three young adult daughters.
