“…I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:36)

Kairos is a lay-led, Christian ministry in which men and women volunteers bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to prisoners and their families.

For the retreat weekend, we take in what is called agape. It comes in various forms. One of the items is coloring sheets. We especially like children to do coloring sheets. Many of the families of the women live too far from the prison to visit or are unable to be connected to them. We ask that they be colored with colored pencils, crayons, or magic markers. a first name and age can be signed on the pictures. The pictures often remind the women of their own children or grandchildren, and that they are not forgotten. Many tears of thankfulness have been shed for these pictures. Scribbles on the pictures are as fine as perfect coloring!! There is always hope in Christ’s love and forgiveness. What an incredible opportunity for us to show mercy and forgiveness, the themes of our Gospel readings these past two Sundays.

Some of the artwork is displayed in the foyer. If you would like to color a picture of hope, they are available in the Church foyer. Pictures need to be returned to Joyce by March 23.
