Join the discussion Thursday, October 3rd at 7 PM

Saint Joseph Parish Adult Ed. Rm.

87 Lacy St. NW, Marietta, GA 30066

In these trying political times, this is a serious question demanding a serious answer.  Come, discover, unfold and discuss the Catholic Church’s teaching regarding our responsibilities as people of faith regarding elections.   Fr. Vic Galier will lead us in this dynamically engaging exploration of our call to Catholic civil virtue – sponsored by St. Joseph, St. Ann and Transfiguration parishes’ Catholic Social Teaching Ministry collaborative.

Ending the Death Penalty in Georgia

“…the Church teaches, in the light of the Gospel, that ‘the death penalty is inadmissible, because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person’, and she works with determination for its abolition worldwide.” Catechism of the Catholic Church #2267  “We remain committed to the work toward complete abolition of capital punishment in our state and in our nation. Only when we are free of this barbaric and unjust practice, can we truly say that we believe life is sacred and inviolable.” Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM
