We are getting ready to host families experiencing homelessness for 4 weeks again this summer. Transfiguration is blessed with many caring parishioners who bring big hearts and generous spirits to volunteer for this ministry and we thank you for all that you do. This is a beautiful opportunity to care for families in need – families who may arrive as strangers, become our guests, and leave as neighbors.
There are many ways that you can help:
- Assist with loading and unloading the van that carries beds and personal belongings.
- Donate essential food items (e.g., breakfast and lunch staples).
- Prepare and serve dinners.
- Spend the night at the church with our guest families***.
- Launder sheets weekly.
***NOTE: Volunteers spending the night must be VIRTUS trained and background checked, as children are involved. Please check with the parish office to be sure your training has not expired.
Even the smallest role makes a big difference and the rewards are immeasurable.
