Our Great Journey

This week our theme is “Love one Another” based on John 13:31-35/ Juan 13:31-35

Registration for 2025-2026 is open, Click HERE.

Opening Prayer:

All pray the Sign of the Cross

Lord Jesus Christ, you command your disciples to love one another, help us to love as you love.  Amen.

Using a Bible, invite a family member to read the scripture passage.

.

Things to talk about:

  • What does Jesus mean when he uses the word “glorified”?
  • Why do you think Jesus wants us to love one another?
  • Is it always easy to love one another? What about your family members?

Things to do:

  • Talk about ways you as a family can show love for one another this week. Discuss when it is hard to love each other and when it is easy.
  • As a family, show love to others in service to others. Pick a service project to do as a family this week. Some ideas are collecting items for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, sign up to make a meal at the homeless shelter, make cards for the sick and homebound, donate to a cause you support, etc.
  • Make Morning Glory Muffins, click here for the recipe.
  • Spread messages of God’s love in your neighborhood by writing messages and bible quotes on your driveway with sidewalk chalk.

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, as may we serve others in love so to glorify your Holy Name.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever.

Amen.

Catholic Insights

This is the Fifth Sunday of Easter.

In today’s gospel, we see Jesus teaching his apostles. He is telling them that in love, and in acts of love, the Lord is glorified. We see this most clearly in Jesus’ Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Jesus is also instructing us to love and act in love to continue to glorify God. When we are the Body of Christ, serving our families, friends, communities, and those in need, we glorify the Lord.
