A lonesome cardinal flower is blooming on the woodland stations of the cross trail. It is strikingly red, named after the robes worn by cardinals in Catholicism. It usually grows in colonies, but this one is struggling due to an allelopathic grass growing all around it. Would you like to help colonize this plant? The seeds will mature this fall but will not germinate in their present situation. Contact garden@transfiguation.com if you can lend a hand.
