“Charity is the cement that unites communities to God and individuals to each other, so that he who contributes to the union of hearts in a community binds it indissolubly to God.” – St. Vincent de Paul
Inspired by Gospel Values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a lay Catholic organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to those who are needy and suffering, in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Ozanam and patron St. Vincent de Paul.
If you need assistance, please call our helpline at 770-977-1442 ext. 1252 (or ext. 1253 en Español) and leave a message; a volunteer will return your call as soon as possible.

Third Saturday Dinner
The Third Saturday Dinner is an outreach project sponsored by the St. Vincent dePaul Conference at Transfiguration that ministers to homeless men and women in North Cobb, and it aims to make life just a bit more comfortable for our guests. Here’s how it works: Partnering with the non-profit Give Homeless Hope, various local congregations each host one Saturday afternoon dinner per month for approximately 100 homeless men and women. Dinner is always served on the grounds of the Shady Grove Baptist Church on Bells Ferry Road in Marietta. Each week dinner guests receive a free hot meal and a take-away bag of small essential items. All food and non-food items are donated by the week’s hosting congregation.
If you would like to provide items for the Third Saturday Dinner in September sponsored by Transfiguration SVdP, sign up below. Please note this procedure: Unless otherwise noted, deliver your donations to Transfiguration on Wednesday, September 18 only — between 10 AM and 11:30 AM (this is a TIME CHANGE from precious months). Bev will accept your contribution in the side parking lot near the church kitchen/SVdP pantry doors.
Thank you for your participation and for caring for our brothers and sisters most in need.
